His moves are a predictable mix of lunges and 2- or 4-hit combos with fist and sword. He'll occasionally harden his skin to deflect your attacks, and his roar can push you back. I found the fight almost therapeutic after the initial nightmare. Use Immobilization to freeze him, summon your clones via A Pluck of Many, and just pummel him. If things get dicey, Cloud Step away to safety. Defeating him nets you the Tiger Tally curio and a cryptic message that his king needs help.

The Main Event: Fuban, the Colossal Beetle

Now, the real party starts. Beyond the tiger, you'll find a drum on a cliff. A desperate king stands there, lamenting that a Yaoguai holds a magical vessel that makes him invulnerable. He needs you to crack that shell. The moment he beats the drum, Fuban—a giant scarab beetle of nightmares—bursts from the sand. This is a two-phase brawl, and you actually get to team up with the king. It's one of the slickest co-op moments in any single-player game.

After the dust settles, you're teleported outside and gifted the Wind Tamer vessel. This legendary artifact reduces incoming damage and makes you immune to high winds—which is, frankly, a godsend for a certain windbag boss I'll be fighting soon.
